‘Just Chance’, originated by Scotsman Tom Sellers, has featured in magicians programmes for years. This is another version, and one which does not involve any ‘loading’ into the envelopes etc.



EFFECT: Displayed upright are three small folders, each of a different color. The magician explains that he intends presenting a game- a game of chance, with the chance of several members of the audience getting the chance to win some serious paper money. He sates right from the start that the magician always wins.

When the spectators’ folders are opened, attached to the clips are folded papers- but its not paper currency. ITS A NOTE OF Commiseration! When the performers last remaining folder is opened, there, attached to the clip is the paper money……… which he pockets and then says “I told you that the magician always wins!”

The folders are clever switching devices, like a Swap Wallet or Himber Wallet, and can be put to use for many other effects. You could use one as an Add a number pad, or for a transformation of a blank playing card to a duplicate of a selected one. You could use two of these pads for a transposition – with a currency bill and a piece of paper, or two cards traveling between the two folders. Or use all three for a “Just Chance” type of effect.
